What is Ryedale Counselling Service?

This service is there to help individuals address a problem, difficulty, issue, or experience, they have currently in their lives. We have a team of fully qualified and experienced Counsellors who will help you through what may be a difficult time for you.

The service is confidential, indeed this is the fundamental aspect we work to.

The service is provided at Ryedale Community House, and some G.P. Surgeries in the area.

The Service in Detail

  • All our Counsellors work to the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) Ethical Framework. The BACP is the professional body regulating Counsellors work in the UK and the Ethical Framework sets out the standard of care that you, as a client, can expect the Counsellors and our service to operate to.

  • We are funded by Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Primary Care Trust and their funding is matched by the Community Fund of the National Lottery. We also receive funding from BBC Children in Need for services for young people and from local employers, who wish to provide support for their staff.

  • We work with any issue you may have where Counselling can be the appropriate response. We are not judgemental or prescriptive in any way. Our aim is to help you to develop an appropriate way forward for you to deal with your issue, whatever it may be.

  • We have a Counsellor who specialises in providing the service for young people between the ages of 13 and 19. Here we can use school premises as well in providing this, if appropriate.

  • Our service is free to all residents of Ryedale.

How do I Contact the Service?
