RVA employs a full time Funding Advisor who provides advice, information and support free of charge direct to voluntary organisations and community groups working in the boroughs of Ryedale and Scarborough.

We are grateful to the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Primary Care Trust for the financial support of this project.

The purpose of this post is to help local groups, particularly those in the social care sphere, to access all sources of funding.

The advice and support given includes:

• helping an organisation identify its funding requirements
• identifying possible sources of funding
• explaining how to prepare applications
• discussing your funding strategy
• commenting on and helping with draft applications.

The intention is not to write the bid for the organisation – they are best placed to do this as they know their business best – rather it is to ensure that they access the most appropriate sources of funding and that their application has the best chance of success.
